The George Orley Mental Wellness Initiative (GOMWI) honors George Orley, who tragically lost his life to suicide in August of 2013, at age 20, when he was a student at the University of Michigan. George's family has since turned grief into action by founding GOMWI with friend Linda Aikens, who has also experienced the loss of others by suicide, and has a family member struggling with mental illness.

The purpose of GOMWI is to de-stigmatize mental illness, health and well-being and offer support through awareness campaigns, events and organizations across the country.
